Rethinking Food Systems for a Changing Climate

We created this animated video for University College London. This video explores Food Systems as part of UCL Grand Challenges - Climate Crisis theme. Explaining how UCL is bringing together researchers from across discipline's to shape future food systems.

Our aim was to create a visually engaging animation, aimed at students and researchers, to highlight the important research that needs to go into tacking the effects of a changing climate on food systems. The style builds on a series of previous illustrations we created for UCL Grand Challenges.

Storyboard

Here’s a peek at our storyboard. Each frame is accompanied by a short description outlining the animation and flow of the scene. At this stage, we often share style frames and an animatic to bring the concept to life before full production begins.

Animation

We've shown research and ideas through a clean, graphical visual language. The interconnected modular windows contain illustrations and icons that represent the complexity of the Climate Crisis theme. We've used a restrained graphic style, to make this complex information feel clear, accessible and engaging.
